Conservation is a matter of great importance to Arctic where we believe historical buildings are a great architectural reference. Where the creation of new buildings is required within historical settings, Arctic favours contemporary design solutions in sympathy with the original setting.

Arctic offers building surveys which are essential to the longevity of any buildings and can be commissioned upon request. Quinquennial Inspections are available for churches and ecclesiastical buildings in the diocese of Wakefield, York, Bradford, Ripon and Leeds.

Alternative uses for historical buildings can often extend their useful life and Arctic Associates offer sympathetic and sensitive refurbishment and modification solutions.

We can act on your behalf with regard to Planning Authorities, English Heritage and other specialist interest groups to specify maintenance and repair issues. Approvals for listed building consent including advice on Ecclesiastical Exemptions and Statements of Significance to support repair proposals are offered by our practice. Where grants or funding is required on your behalf application can be made to such bodies as English Heritage and other national / regional organisations.
