Residential FAQ’s

Is there a charge for an initial meeting?

Yes. We do charge a small call out fee for our initial consultation meeting. This is to ensure we have as much relevant information from you as possible and to see your property. Meeting with you also allows us to discuss your ideas with you making sure we understand exactly what you need from us.

How much are architectural fees for residential projects?

Our fees will depend on your requirements and the size of the project to be developed and are agreed upon in advance of any appointment.

What does the cost of your services cover?

All statutory authority fees such as planning and building regulations will need to be paid by you directly to the Local Authority and depend on the size of the project.

Will I need planning permission?

No. Planning permission is not always required and we will advise you if Permitted Development is appropriate for your project.

How long will the design and construction processes take?

This will vary according to the complexity of the project. If the work is built in a year we have done very well.

Is a measured survey essential?

Yes. To accurately design any extension or alteration to an existing building, measurements need to be taken.

Will I be working directly with you?

Yes, together with our other experienced and qualified design team staff.

Will the completed project impact the value of my home?

Yes, but depending on the size of the extension and the current housing market we advise clients they may achieve the full cost outlay immediately.
