As heritage architects, our approach to conservation and intervention is based on a combination of artistic, contextual, and informational values.

Shelley Methodist Church

Architectural conservation is just one facet of our practice. Our philosophy for conservation is to prolong the material, historical, and design integrity of built heritage through carefully planned interventions.  Russell Trudgen is an architect accredited in conservation and makes design decisions of appropriate intervention based on his critical experience of working with our cultural heritage.

At Shelley Methodist Church the priority was to make this Grade II listed church roof structurally sound and waterproof. The photographs below illustrate the process of protecting the interior of the church while the stone roof tiles were removed, and the timber trusses repaired before recovering.
